MAPS Considering Options For Sale Or Consolidation Of Current School Operations
MERRILL – In April of 2024, Merrill Area Public Schools presented a plan to voters proposing the relocation of several operations into the vacant Jefferson Elementary Building. Also proposed was moving Central Office operations into the high school and replacing the current maintenance facilities. The capital referendum, which would streamline operations and save money, was voted down.
This leaves the organization with Plan B options of either proceeding with the original plan to move those operations into Jefferson Elementary over several years using current budgeted funds which are very tight, or to simply sell the Elementary Building and property.
